WELCOME TO THE 2023 CYFO CHEER SEASON!! 

At Coventry Youth Football Organization we are happy to help your children learn the fundamentals of cheerleading. We will assist your  children with skill development,  help them learn the importance of teamwork, and  promote good sportsmanship.  

We are a team and every member counts! We need everyone at practice on a regular basis. We will be learning cheers, chants, stunts, and  dances that will require everyone's attendance. Please make it a priority to make every  practice and every  game. 

PRACTICE:

-Practice will start the 2nd full week of August and be on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6-8pm
-After school starts practice days will be Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm for Red and White Squad and from 6-8pm for Silver Squad
-Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers to practice. NO jeans, flip flops, or hard soled shoes
-Please have hair pulled back and out of their face
-No jewelry
-ALWAYS bring water labeled with your child's name

GAMES:

-Home games are on Sundays and are played at OJR Stadium
-Away games will be on either Saturday or Sunday
-Game schedules will be sent out as soon as they are finalized typically this will be in late August
-Games are every weekend in September and October. Championship game will be in November
-Cheerleaders will cheer for ALL games, away and home
-Please arrive at the time specified by your child's coach
-ALWAYS bring water labeled with your child's name

UNIFORMS:

-Cheer uniforms are provided by the league, this includes, top, skirt, bloomers, and warm-up pants.
-Cheer shoes must be worn to all games. SHOES WILL BE PURCHASED BY PARENTS.
-We will be fitting for uniforms and warm-ups during the first week of August practice
-Cheer jackets are free your child's first year but will need to be purchased after their first year should they need a new size
-Skirt, top, and warm-up pants will be handed in at the end of the season
-Bows will  be purchased and are to be worn for every game as part of their uniform.

COACHES:

-All coaching staff is volunteer, if you are interested in coaching please reach out to Jess Lupo at [email protected]
-All adult coaches are required to have mandatory background checks and child abuse training

SQUADS:

-Red Squad is kindergarten through 2nd grade
-White Squad is 3rd and 4th grade
-Silver Squad is 5th and 6th grade
